Photo/Personality Test

After taking the Myers Briggs test I found that my personality is one that is balanced between Extraversion and Introversion. I enjoy a job that has a balance between these two traits, I enjoy working with people and sharing ideas and I internalize information and form thoughts and ideas on my own. I prefer using my intuition to make balanced decisions and I show a preference for using my perception when it comes to making decisions. Also, I often go with the flow and feel more comfortable when  things are unplanned.

About me

Hi there, I am a physical education instructor at a charter school in Sacramento. I have a passion for recreation and physical fitness. I grew up in San Jose and completed my undergraduate studies in Recreation at San Jose State University. I enjoy riding motorcycles, golfing, basketball, and spending time with my family. Last summer my wife and I bought our first house in the Sacramento area and we had our second child, a baby girl (Phoebe) in July. It has been an exciting move and we are really happy as we settle into our new community.

As as physical education teacher I feel that my personality lends itself to a positive and fulfilled learning environment for my students. One of my traits shows that I am willing to make changes to plans and modify the structure of my class as needed. I have structured lesson plans but I am flexible. I let my students come up with ideas for changes to the games and actives we play, often these ideas make the games more fun. For example, I began a unit on capture the flag, I used a bandanna as the flag. When students had the idea of using footballs for the flags and allowing teams to toss, hand off or pitch the ball to each other to obtain the objective, we incorporated it into our game. This along with many other small changes has created our own unique game that the students love. I have 100% participation and the kids are excited to play.  I, of course, must use my judgement to make sure the changes are safe and within the scope of my lesson plan, but my personality type allows changes to be made and the result has been a very successful physical education unit.
